A message from our founder.
Tiny Heroes was inspired by both personal experience and a simple idea that felt too important to ignore.
I was born in Brisbane and spent time being treated for asthma as a young child at Queensland Children’s Hospital. Years later, while discussing ways we could give back, my partner Katrina suggested creating superhero capes for children in hospital to recognise the bravery they show every day.
As someone who experienced hospital care as a child, and now as a father of two young boys, the idea immediately resonated with me. Tiny Heroes was created to bring small moments of courage, imagination and joy to children during their hospital journey - because every child facing treatment deserves to feel like a hero.
Colours that inspire confidence and courage
Our standard Tiny Heroes cape colours have been thoughtfully chosen to represent the qualities we want every child to feel.
Blue symbolises trust and security, teal reflects calm and healing, red represents courage and strength, and purple celebrates confidence and resilience. Together, these colours help create a positive, uplifting experience for children during important or challenging moments. Additional colours and custom options are also available for organisations who would like to align the program with their own environment or community.
